Rethinking Teacher Time

Kentucky teacher leaders are posing a challenge: rethink professional learning and restructure the school day to improve learning for students and teachers.

Recently, a team of 15 CTQ-KY teacher leaders and 1 administrator took on the challenge of rethinking teacher time to optimize professional learning. This team analyzed current teacher schedules and conducted an intensive three-day chat discussing teacher needs and opportunities for reallocating time.

The group created:

  • a shareable infographic with 3 recommendations for reallocating teacher time;
  • a series of blog posts on professional learning; and
  • a Prezi presentation with a video on teacher time and a survey for joining CTQ-KY.
