How do you prove you’re not just horsing around?

I have always maintained that schools sometime struggle with how to utilize teacher leaders. It’s not that schools don’t value leadership, but sometimes they just don’t know what to do with a racehorse in an organizational structure designed to use teachers as plow horses—in harness and keeping those rows straight!

The passion that characterizes this group  and so many other teacher leaders I’ve met is sometimes perceived as a problem rather than potential.

So here’s my question to some of the smartest teachers I.ve ever met–What have you found that  works to help decisionmakers recognize that passion as untapped  horsepower rather than just horsiness?
