Today, I’m slated to be speaking at EDUCA 2012: The Annual Congress for Teacher Professional Development, which is taking place in Bangkok, Thailand. I’m representing the United States in a global forum on “teachers as learners.”  My presentation will be under way in a few hours, and I’ve just learned that it will be available to watch live.

If you’re interested in watching the presentation, visit CTQ’s USTREAM channel to watch live (at midnight EST or 9 p.m. PST), or to view the recording afterward.

In the meantime, below is the precis of my presentation:

Teaching—The Global Profession: Lessons Learned from the USA

The teaching profession is poised for a transformation—worldwide. Globalization is changing many industries and the professions that fuel them. And the right kind of teaching profession will be instrumental in helping young people meet the citizenship and economic challenges of the mid-21st century. The tools for transforming the teaching profession are at our disposal—and what needs to be done is already being done right now somewhere in the world.

I’m looking forward to learning from education leaders from around the world, and sharing their perspectives with our education communities back in the United States.
