TLNer David B. Cohen writes: ‘In this blog entry, Larry Ferlazzo — a prolific writer and collector of web resources — describes in brief how his school emerged from Year 4 of Program Improvement (in California). Take away idea: Do the right thing by your students and staff, and test scores will follow. I’m sure you all know this, but it’s nice to see examples.’
As Ferlazzo notes in his blog entry, at his inner city high school in Sacramento over half the students are English Language Learners. Speaking of which, Ferlazzo was a finalist for the EduBlog Awards last year for “best resource sharing blog.” He got our vote! Check out his resource set for teaching ELLs.
