Just be your amazing self! - Me, via Jessica C

Who am I? I'm the chick wearing lipstick while throwing the ball from center field to home plate; the one who will always make a friend, listen to a difference of opinion, and speak not to change the opinion of others, but to support those that are like minded. I am the one who will never be an accomplished learner- the world is my textbook. I am your comic relief, the protector of your feelings, the advocate of children, and stronger than I even know. I am becoming the me I have always wanted to become.

Education interests and goals

One positive change I hope to see in our schools:

When we engage ALL learners; regardless of race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, etc. We must do this and quickly, or we won't have the talent needed for the jobs of tomorrow. When education changes to truly elevate teacher and student voice, and generates a prepared citizen, then and only then can we let up a bit.

What I’m learning about now:

How micro-messaging affects our learners.

How cultural responsiveness can open the door to closing the acheivement gap

The Art of Critical Pedigogy - Andreade and Morrell

My current leadership goal:

I aspire to become a Teacherpreneur

I would be very interested in a hybrid role that allowed me to:

Continue to be a role model for other teachers and students while actualizing my talents at effectively leading people.
