Education interests and goals

I am interested in:

Communications Lab[Want to go public with your bold ideas? Sharpen your communications and multimedia skills here.]
CTQ-Global[Global education challenges require the collective expertise of the world best’s educators, including you. ]
Teacher-Powered Schools[Where education innovators connect with others and learn how to design, launch, and run teacher-powered schools.]

Other interests:

I am an edu-geek through and through, and when I'm not in the classroom (or getting ready to be in the classroom) you can find me blogging, reading, logging (slow and steady) miles, cuddling with my three four-legged children (Miniature Schnauzers!) Zumba-ing, or testing my "foodie" skills by trying new cuisine, wines and cocktails at a variety of restaurants (sushi and Indian are two personal favorites). I'm also passionate about women and children's issues in the developing world and am in the process of adopting an orphan from Ethiopia.

One positive change I hope to see in our schools:

One change I hope to see in our schools is an increase that results in a social movement around student and teacher leadership. I envision schools where students and teachers work collaboratively to build "master schedules" that maximize and personalize learning experiences for all.
