What should teachers tell parents about the Common Core? This question is the guiding prompt behind this month’s Teaching Ahead series.
In my post, I argue that we should not just tell but show parents what the Common Core looks like in action. How might parent/school partnerships be strengthened and leveraged if we use the Common Core as an opportunity to demonstrate and showcase student learning through in-class observations and visitations, student work, and student-led conferences?
