ANNENBERG INSTITUTE FOR SCHOOL REFORM
The Annenberg Institute for School Reform develops, shares and acts on knowledge that improves the conditions and outcomes of schooling in America, especially in urban communities and in schools serving disadvantaged children.

BROWN CENTER ON EDUCATION POLICY AT BROOKINGS INSTITUTE
Brookings Institute’s Brown Center on Education Policy conducts research on topics in American education, with a special focus on efforts to improve academic achievement in elementary and secondary schools.

THE CARNEGIE FOUNDATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF TEACHING
Andrew Carnegie founded The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in 1905 "to do all things necessary to encourage, uphold and dignify the profession of teaching." The Foundation is the only advanced study center for teachers in the world and the third oldest foundation in the nation.

CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF TEACHING AND POLICY (CTP)
The Center for the Study of Teaching and Policy (CTP) is a consortium of five universities which has been created to investigate the relation between excellent teaching and policymaking at national, state, and local levels. The five universities are: University of Washington (lead institution), Stanford University, Teachers College/Columbia University, University of Michigan, and University of Pennsylvania.

CONSORTIUM FOR POLICY RESEARCH IN EDUCATION (CPRE)
Founded in 1985, CPRE unites researchers from five of the nation's leading universities to improve elementary and secondary education through research on policy, finance, school reform, and school governance.

INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP (IEL)
The Institute for Educational Leadership's (IEL) mission is to improve education — and the lives of children and their families — through positive and visionary change. IEL is building and supporting a cadre of diverse leaders, strengthening the capacity of education and related systems, and informing the development and implementation of policies.

NATIONAL CENTER FOR EDUCATION STATISTICS (NCES)
Part of the U.S. Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data that are related to education in the United States and other nations.

NATIONAL CENTER FOR RESTRUCTURING EDUCATION, SCHOOLS, AND TEACHING (NCREST)
The National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools, and Teaching (NCREST), established at Teachers College in 1990, supports restructuring efforts by documenting successful initiatives, creating reform networks to share new research findings with practitioners, and linking policy to practice.

NATIONAL COMMISSION ON TEACHING & AMERICA'S FUTURE (NCTAF)
The National Commission on Teaching and America's Future is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing every child with competent, caring, qualified teachers in schools organized for success.
