Bank Street College

Teacher preparation programs, even those that are very successful, need to stay focused on creating the kind of teacher education needed for today and tomorrow. As a visiting scholar during the 2010-11 academic year, Barnett Berry will facilitate a number of opportunities for Bank Street College of Education faculty, alumni and students to craft and frame their own vision for how future teachers need to be prepared for the schools of 2030. Bank Street alum Ariel Sacks, a co-author of Teaching 2030 and current classroom teacher and teacher leader in NYC is participating as co-facilitator with Berry. A forthcoming product resulting from this year of study and reflection will be published in spring 2011.
